Kathy AlwineKathy Alwine
Administrative Assistant

Kathy Alwine joined Vetamac in January 2014 as an administrative assistant.  Kathy’s past experience includes working as a receptionist in a financial institution, serving as a Direct Support Professional for Cardinal Services, and working as an administrative assistant for a local company.  She also ran her own in-home childcare business for over 24 years.   

Kathy and her husband, Eric, have three daughters, Emily (married to Brian), Sarah (married to Danny), & Erica (married to Darren), and 9 grandchildren.  She enjoys serving in her church, riding with Eric on their Harley-Davidson, reading, and being with her grandchildren. 


Pamela BellamyPamela Bellamy, RVT
Retired Senior Field Service Technician/Sales Associate, Consultant

Pamela Bellamy is a Registered Veterinary Technician with over 20 years experience in small animal medicine.  She worked for 9 years as the Head Veterinary Technician in a small animal practice where she was responsible for training other staff members, surgery, and anesthesia.  In 1999 Pam joined the staff at the Iams Company where she handled technical calls, provided education on nutrition, provided in-house training, and worked with the Pet Loss Support Line.  She also used her vast knowledge of behavior problems to help pet owners resolve those problems.  Pam is a member of the Ohio Veterinary Technician's Association.Katy

Pam joined Vetamac in June 2007 and is a field service technician/sales associate based in Ohio.  She resides in Yellow Springs, Ohio with her husband, Ken, their two cats, Stuart Little and No Mo and their lively Border Collie, Katy.  Pam's interests include gardening, cooking, and novice agility.


Cynthia BurnsCynthia A. Burns, RVT
Service Technician/Sales Associate

Cynthia Burns is a Registered Veterinary Technician with over 20 years of animal clinical care and veterinary sales experience.  Besides working in several small hospitals, she also worked with Midwest Vet Supply, Columbus Serum, and The Butler Company.  Cynthia joined Vetamac in November 2012 as a service technician/sales associate and currently covers North and South Carolina.  She attended Purdue University and graduated in 1989.

Cynthia resides in Kernersville, North Carolina with her husband, Rob, her dog, Bailey, and two cats, Tori and Mushi.  Her interests include landscaping, gardening, scrapbooking, wine making, and cooking.   


Debbie ColemanDebbie A. Coleman, RVT, VTS (Anesthesia)
Senior Service Technician/Sales Associate

Debbie Coleman graduated from the Animal Health Technology program in 1980 from Truman State in Kirksville, Missouri.  She worked in a two-man mixed animal practice in Paris, Missouri for 8 years.  In the fall of 1987, Debbie joined the anesthesia staff at the Iowa State Veterinary Teaching Hospital and worked as an anesthesia technician until March of 2008.

Debbie is currently a senior field service technican/sales associate for Vetamac.  She repairs and maintains anesthesia machines for veterinarians in Iowa and the surrounding states. 

Debbie is a member of NAVTA, VECCS, and a charter member of the Academy of Veterinary Technician Anesthetists where she served as President from 2005-2006.  She has provided lectures to national meetings including WVC, NAVC, ACVIM, AVMA, and SWVC.   


Jim coonsJim Coons
Senior Service Technician/Sales Associate

Jim Coons joined Vetamac in January of 2011.  Jim has been involved with the veterinary community for over 35 years.  His career started out with Holmes Serum Company in Indianapolis and has included time with numerous other veterinary companies, including The Butler Company for 13 years.  Jim has also worked for Lumenis, selling surgical lasers and Suburban Surgical supplying stainless steel products.  Before Vetamac, Jim worked for PVP as a sales rep in Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. 

Jim currently serves on the advisory committee for the Veterinary Technician program at Brown Mackie College in South Bend, Indiana. 

Jim and his wife, Susie, have been married for 34 years and live in Valparaiso, Indiana.  They have one son, Mike, who lives in Florida.  Jim's hobbies include fishing, golfing, and antique shopping with his wife. 


Tom EdenTom Eden
Chief Executive Officer/President

Tom Eden graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. Since 1986, Tom has owned and operated various small business franchises including: Holiday Inn, Aamco Transmissions and Thrifty Car Rental.  Tom provides knowledge of manufacturing, small business ownership and business operations. Tom joined Vetamac in 2007 as an advisory board member.

Tom and his wife, Tricia, have been married for 27 years and live in Monticello, Indiana.  They have two sons, and two daughters. Tom’s hobbies include auto racing, classic cars and playing drums and percussion for various bands.


Kelli GillKelli Gill, RVT, VTS (Anesthesia)
Service Technician/Sales Associate

Kelli Gill graduated from The Bel Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado in 2002.  She has 20 years of experience in the veterinary field working in a variety of areas.  However, she has always had a special interest in anesthesia.  She spent the last 8 years working in a busy specialty practice in the surgery department where she provided in-house training seminars, lectures for referring veterinary practices in the Atlanta area and continuing education for the community. She obtained her Veterinary Technician Specialty in Anesthesia in 2012. She is a member of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society as well as Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Anesthesia and Analgesia.  Kelli joined Vetamac in 2016 as a service technician/sales associate for the state of Georgia.

Kelli lives in Marietta, Georgia with her husband, Andres, a sweet little pit bull named Olive and two orange tabbies, Nigel and Dexteranne, who she bottle raised since they were just 2 days old.  She enjoys cooking, traveling and eating different cultural cuisines.

Brian HuffordBrian Hufford
Manufacturing/Service Specialist

Brian Hufford joined Vetamac in July 2015 as a Manufacturing/Service Specialist.  He manages all machining, assembly and testing of the equipment and products produced by Vetamac.  He also handles machine repair and service, including field service, as necessary.  Brian has completed courses in the Industrial Maintenance program at Ivy Tech.  He worked as an assembly technician for over 21 years for Caterpillar Large Engine Center.

Brian and his wife, Carla, have three children.  He enjoys running, deer hunting, and camping. 


Carla HuffordCarla Hufford
Business Manager

Carla Hufford has been with Vetamac, Inc. since July 2004.  She has an Associate's Degree in Accounting from Ivy Tech Community College.  Upon graduation, she worked in accounting and tax preparation.  She brings with her over 10 years experience as a Customer Service Representative with a local financial institution.

Carla is Secretary of the corporation and serves as Business Manager overseeing the scheduling of service calls, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, and marketing activities.  Carla and her husband, Brian, have three children, Bethany, Whitney & Cory.  She enjoys reading, baking, camping, and serving in her church.


Harry LatshawHarry Latshaw, MS, RVT, VTS(Anesthesia)
Company Founder, Consultant

Harry Latshaw attended Purdue University where he earned a BS in Animal Science and a Masters in Veterinary Physiology & Pharmacology.  Harry worked full time as an Anesthesia Technologist in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Purdue for 22 years, winning multiple teaching awards.

Seeing a need for quality service support, Harry, along with his wife, Freida, founded Vetamac in 1990.  Since then, the company has become a recognized leader in the industry.

Harry is a member of several professional organizations including the American Veterinary Medical History Society, National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, Indiana Veterinary Technician Association, and the Academy of Veterinary Technician Anesthetists.  He continues to give oral presentations at numerous conferences including the Annual Purdue Fall Conference for Veterinary Technicians and the AAHA National Conference.  Harry also enjoys returning to his love of teaching by presenting lectures and labs to students currently in the Veterinary Technology Program at Purdue.

Harry retired from the day to day operations in December 2015.  He and his wife, Freida, reside in the Rossville, Indiana area.


Heidi LescunHeidi Lescun, BS, RVT
Service Technician/Sales Associate

Heidi Lescun graduated from North Dakota State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology.  Upon graduation, she worked as a veterinary technologist at Purdue University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital. In June 2000, she moved to Australia with her husband Tim, where he worked as a veterinarian in a progressive equine hospital.  In August 2001, she returned to the Purdue VTH to provide anesthesia support to the large animal hospital and soon thereafter was working as an anesthesia technologist in both the small and large animal hospitals.  Heidi was appointed supervisor of the anesthesia technicians in 2006.  Heidi joined Vetamac in January 2015 as a service technician/sales associate servicing Northwest and Central Indiana.

 

Heidi, her husband Tim, daughter Lili and two dogs, two cats and five horses reside in Lafayette, Indiana on their small hobby farm. They enjoy attending Purdue Basketball games and traveling together.  Heidi and Lili are often found on the weekends showing their horses at the Indiana Quarter Horse Shows.


Jared LongJared Long, RVT
Service Technician/Sales Associate

Jared Long is a Registered Veterinary Technician with over 10 years of experience in animal clinical care.  His experience includes large and small animal primary care as well as small animal emergency and specialty care.  He was on the surgery team at an emergency and specialty hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana for two years.  In 2005, Jared began working at a mixed animal practice where he became a supervisor.  In the summer of 2012, he transitioned into the inventory manager position until coming to Vetamac.  Jared joined Vetamac in February 2016 as a service technician/sales associate servicing Northeast Indiana and Eastern Michigan.

 

Jared resides in Fort Wayne, Indiana with his husband, Ryan, and their three dogs; Booker (Great Dane), Bentley (Great Pyrenees), and Puck (Golden Retriever Mix).  Jared enjoys being active with friends and family, trying new dining experiences, and traveling.


Michelle McConnellMichelle McConnell, LVT, VTS(Anesthesia)
Senior Service Technician/Sales Associate

Michelle McConnell graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado in 2002.  She obtained her Veterinary Technician Specialty in Anesthesia in 2007 while teaching at Kansas State University.  Since 2007, Michelle has worked at specialty animal hospitals in South Florida.  Michelle joined Vetamac in September 2011 as a service technician/sales associate in southeast Florida. 

Michelle is a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America and the Academy of Veterinary Technician Anesthetists. 

Michelle and her husband, Bryan, reside in South Florida with their daughter, Violet, born in December 2015, a very hyper golden retriever named Mango, and a cat named Michigan.  Michelle's hobbies include reading and participating in a monthly book club, going to the beach, going out to dinner with friends, competing in marathons and triathlons, and traveling.


Dee Woebkenberg, BS, RVT
Service Technician/Sales Associate

Dee Woebkenberg is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor Degree in Animal Science. She received a Registered Veterinary Technician degree from the University of Cincinnati, Raymond Walters.  She has worked at The Ohio State University Veterinary Hospital on the anesthesia team and has over 21 years in research at Ethicon Endo Surgery, a Johnson & Johnson Company.   Dee is a member of the Ohio Veterinary Technician Association.

Dee joined Vetamac in April 2017 and is a service technician/sales associate based in Ohio.  She resides in Lebanon, Ohio and works with her brother on the family farm.  Dee is very involved in harness horse racing, is a licensed auctioneer, and competes in baking competitions. 



Advisory Board

The Vetamac Advisory Board provides oversight, advice and direction to the leadership of the company.  The advisory board is comprised of persons with expertise in finance, business operations, sales and marketing, and industry knowledge.

Cheryl Hurd, RVT, worked as chief veterinary technician in the Diagnostic Imaging Section at Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine from 1986-2000.  She is currently co-owner of Veterinary Imaging Consultants, a mobile veterinary ultrasound service throughout the state of Indiana.

Christian Birch has a B.S. in Animal Science from Texas A&M University and has held various sales, learning and development and management positions with Zoetis, formerly Pfizer Animal Health.  Christian provides knowledge in the areas of sales and territory management.

Loretta Wernert, DVM, is a 1993 graduate of Purdue University.  She works as a general practitioner at the Kentland Veterinary Clinic in Kentland, Indiana.

Mark Howard is the owner of a John Deere dealership in Monticello, Indiana.  His years of business experience in sales and service will be a great contribution to our board.

Richard Bartholomew, JD, CPA is the Director of Tax Services at Girardot, Strauch & Co. and works closely with Vetamac in the areas of accounting & taxes.

Debra Spesard is a Vice President and Commercial Banking Officer at Lafayette Bank & Trust.

Craig Wardrip, DVM, was an associate professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Chicago until his retirement in 2015.
